Our Story
The AAC Social House is more than a venue—it is the intersection of a career, a calling, and a deeply personal journey rooted in hospitality, community, and connection.
Founded by M. Joi Alexander, MBA, hospitality executive, community builder, and Stage 3B Triple Negative Breast Cancer survivor, The AAC Social House was born from more than 25 years of creating experiences that bring people together. Throughout her career, Joi has held leadership roles with Marriott International, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, CAVA, Slutty Vegan, and other industry-leading brands, helping shape hospitality experiences ranging from intimate celebrations to some of the nation's most high-profile events, including Super Bowl LIII and the College Football Playoff National Championship.
But the inspiration behind The AAC Social House came from something even greater.
During her cancer journey, Joi experienced firsthand the power of community and what it means when people show up with love, support, and intention. That experience reinforced a simple belief: meaningful moments deserve meaningful spaces.
The AAC Social House is built on the philosophy of Activate | Assemble | Celebrate—activating ideas, assembling community, and celebrating life's milestones, both big and small.
The name AAC also serves as a tribute to Joi's greatest inspiration: her three children, Aniya, Arie, and Cameron, whose love, resilience, and unwavering support continue to fuel her purpose and vision every day.
Today, The AAC Social House proudly serves as Baltimore's first hybrid micro-event venue, content studio, and community hub—a space where entrepreneurs, creators, professionals, families, and visionaries can gather, create, connect, and celebrate intentional moments in a meaningful way!
